Happers ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Happers mobile application. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Information We Collect
- Location. With your permission, we use your device's GPS to show happy hour deals near you and calculate distances. Location is used only while the app is in the foreground and is never stored on our servers.
- Account information. If you create an account, we store your email address and display name to personalize your experience.
- Saved preferences. Drink preferences, notification settings, saved venues, and check-ins are stored on your device and optionally synced to your account so they persist across reinstalls.
- Reviews and photos. If you submit a review or photo, that content is stored on our servers and may be displayed publicly within the app.
- Venue submissions. If you submit a new venue, we store the details you provide.
- Usage data. We may collect anonymous usage data (e.g. app crashes, feature usage) to improve the app. This data is not linked to your identity.
How We Use Your Information
- To show you relevant happy hour deals near your location
- To save your preferences and sync them across your devices
- To send you notifications you have opted into (e.g. deal alerts for saved venues)
- To review and publish venue and deal submissions
- To improve the app based on anonymous usage patterns
Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We use the following services to operate the app:
- Supabase — database and file storage (supabase.com)
- Expo / Apple — app distribution and push notifications
These services process data only as necessary to provide the functionality described above.
Data Retention
Account data is retained until you request deletion. Local preferences are stored on your device and cleared when you uninstall the app. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.
Notifications
We may send push notifications for happy hour alerts at venues you have saved. You can disable notifications at any time in your device's Settings or within the app.
Children's Privacy
Happers is intended for users 21 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your Choices
- Location: You can revoke location permission at any time in your device Settings. The app will continue to work without it, though distance information will not be available.
- Notifications: Toggle off in the app's Profile tab or in device Settings.
- Account deletion: Contact us at hello@happers.app to request full deletion of your account and data.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
